GEMS-Singularity University Global Innovation Challenge 2017

Singularity University Global Summit | San Francisco, CA

This journey began as a grassroots initiative within our school and evolved into a global success story. Competing against a wide array of innovative student projects, our team of five developed a sustainable housing solution: portable, insulated cardboard homes designed to address the global refugee housing crisis. After securing the win at the intra-school level, we advanced to the GEMS-Singularity University Global Innovation Challenge, where we were named overall winners and received the People's Choice Award.

As a result of this achievement, our team was awarded a fully sponsored trip to San Francisco to attend the Singularity University Global Summit 2017. This prestigious event served as a platform for us to exhibit our project at the Innovation Hub, where we pitched our prototype to international investors, industry-leading tech innovators, and global thought leaders focused on exponential technologies.
